A Shadow In the Ice

Mostly played live in one take. Phenol, Mother 32, Juno 6 and reverbs.  Overdubbed a second, more dissonant drone track with the Phenol that comes in low in the mix in the second half.

EDIT: I forgot there's also a pretty bland sounding two parameter Eurorack tom module my neighbor made from a kit in there, too, just straight 16th notesbeing triggered by the clock out from the Mother 32 and run through an old Yamaha flanger pedal.  I don't have any actual Eurorack setup but I got a case with that module in it as part of a trade last year and used a couple secondhand modules to make it into a spring reverb. Not really interested in going down the Eurorack hole any time soon though. At most I'll slowly fill it up with DIY filters and just use it when I need to filter something.

Nice reverbs!

Damn thats sweet. Sounds like shifting interference patterns of reverb?

If all drone was like this, I'd listen to more drone. Serene!

Very peaceful and chill, relaxing... good stuff!

Spring reverb with modulated feedback is probably what you're hearing. I'm using a spring reverb tank, OTO BAM and Peavey Univerb (not a Univerb II, an original Univerb, for what that's worth - nobody seems to know much about this one, I sure didn't before somebody gave it to me last year).

Thanks for the compliments, glad you all like it!

Inspiring. I just got a Mother 32 and don't hardly know what to do with it yet so my ears perked up reading the description. Nice arps.  What are you using for the bass synth?

That one-note bass part is stock Mother32 routing, no patching at all.  What I DID do was patch the envelope, LFO triangle and VCO triangle from the Mother 32 into the Phenol, so its sounds are responding to the Mother 32. I honestly don't remember how I patched it exactly.

Thanks for the tips.  Gives me something to shoot for. Bass sounds amazing.  I am getting weaker sounds so need to keep working on it.  I have the DFAM and its quite eclectic but can be frustrating. Another learning curve situation.

No resonance on the filter goes a long way with getting more bass. Those Moog filters lose bass as you increase the resonance.
