extra low quality mp3 this week because it's an 8 minute track and it was converting to over 16MB. will upload to my bandcamp page and perhaps soundcloud for download at HQ if anyone is interested smile

i missed last week's cutoff time by like 15 minutes, got wrapped up trying to tweak a track and ended up still unhappy. it's up on my soundcloud if anyone is interested, the first couple minutes aren't bad at least...but that's last week...

this week's track is pretty solid, if a little drifty; melodies were generative that i edited down into a few movements, then the track was performed live on Rytm + Push, so there's some mistakes and raw-ness to this. i chopped off a little at the end of the track and added a touch of reverb to ease it out into a fade. hope you like it :]

Thanks! When I first started the track earlier in the week I was using my DSI Evolver being triggered by the generative MIDI via Max4Live/Ableton, but when I decided on the form of the track and realized I was going to be performing and recording live I experimented with some bass sounds in Ableton. The one you hear was sounding so open and sparse but still with lots of bite and grit, so I sIpent a while tweaking it in Ableton, and it worked much better for the final tone of the track than the thick Evolver patch I was using. It's just an Analog device in Ableton that's heavily processed with lots of mods and things live-tweaking it :]

Very cool! Great result.

A heap of cool bits in here.  From the beats to the synth acid.
