Stimming

By Tone Matrix on May 1, 2022 12:56 pm

The creative me is lost somewhere.  Not sure why I can't just sit down and enjoy working on something lately but it's just not happening. "Finished_an_album_me" should really give a stern talking to this "woah_is_me" guy that's been hanging around lately.
Being the stubborn person I am I don't want to skip a week either, so here's some speed trash or more like slow trash since this is an old idea from 2019 that never went anywhere.  So I organized the going nowhere into a tiny bin or receptacle for composting.  I think I'm still referring to music. This description might be longer than the track itself. Maybe next week the brain will percolate...  May... haps...

Very happy you pushed yourself to release a little something again this week as it was a very pleasant 2 mins... Nice soundscape, well executed.

Friendly challenge for you: Post a track and write a description that contains no "qualifying" language, such as "noodle" or "ran out of time" etc.

I argue that creative you is actually not lost, but "Woeful Matrix" is being so loud that Tone Matrix is being drowned out.

I mean this piece is simple but doesn't mean it's terrible!  Sounds good!  smile

There's nothing wrong with simple, especially when it sounds as nice as this.  Honestly it was an enjoyable way to spend 2 minutes.

For all it's worth, i enjoyed the layers and the soundscape of this track. It is warm and brings some evocative ideas.  Best of luck hitting the creativity again! For me, watching a good movie, or walking in nature, or talking with an old friend, or listening to music I would usually never listen to, are good ways to find a new area of creativity to explore what the subconscious has to explore.

the 2.02 minutes remind me a lot of electronic music I loved in the 90ies. Higher Intelligence Agency, Seefeel, Deep Space Network,...I could enjoy this lovely track 10 times while reading everything above and writing my comment. thank you

hope your stimming helps your system calm to the creative space

I like the low, down, vibe of this.  It's like slowed down Tears for Fears. WBs can be a grind but sometimes we find new qualities and ideas in our desperation to get out our weekly tracks!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and positivity.  I will def try my best to be less woeful.  When I say noodle I don't necessarily mean to knock myself.  It's more or less my way of saying I stumbled upon whatever melody or phrase by accident or just laziness.  I believe I said noodle again this week but again in good spirits.  tongue  Gonna try and stick with the positive vibes though.  If the anxiety comes up again I may just resort to the solo piano.  It seems lately to be therapeutic especially when I'm overthinking things.  Thanks errrbody fer listenin!

Derp sorry the pic is of a stim ring (not mine) just zoomed in and Oilist-ed smile  I was super lazy.  A picture of my pillowcase corner wouldn't have been as visually pleasing lol. smile

I like the vibe. This has a presence. Riding the ups and downs, agree sometimes just pushing through and creating something may help keep things smooth out and bring back the ups.
