Obsessive Corrosive

By Tone Matrix on April 19, 2020 6:18 pm

For a nice change I got myself to work on this early in the week.  Then shelved it for a few days being the usual lazy procrastinating mofo I am.  It's a bit familiar sounding and not too creative other than I decided to be a bit sparse with things and add a bit more fx at the end.  I apologize for being behind in listening to errrrbodies tracks.  I shall play catch up this week!  Stay safe!

I've been enjoying getting the previews for these every Sunday on IG.  Cool track this week man, lots of depth to the mix.  Very nice use of space, it adds so much.

Solid orchestration! Nice ambient work.  Sometimes it's good to step away and return to creative work after a few days.  Sounds like it paid off!

Love that title, and this track goes to great places, pretty epic really, lots to absorb and lots of depth and emotion. Coming back to things is always good I think.

This has a really nice build to it and just some great sounds all around.  I often tend to knock tracks out in one go, but I think there's a lot to be said for walking away and coming back later.  A lot of my personal favorite songs are the ones where I've done that.  Something about returning with fresh ears really seems to help.

Beautiful as always.

Lovely mix.  Very enjoyable with my shiraz.  smile

The Sparsity of instrumentation and changes allowed the sounds and mood created by the piece to come out. I am learning the importance of allowing the instruments to move and not so much having 5-8 instruments trying to do that. This is a living track.

Great use of the piano.

May be familiar sounds but executed so well, again reminds me of Trent Reznor (which is awesome because I'm a huge fan of his work).

Thanks, yep Trent is my FAAAAAAVorite and that's probably a bit too obvious in a few (more than 10) tracks.  I can't help sometimes following that progression he so often uses.  I don't know if it's a harmonic minor or whatever, not a huge music theory nerd but I was out of ideas so NIN progression it went smile  Thanks again!

this is a little melancholic and was giving me good warm feelings. so much going on and moving forward.
I did enjoy listening. thanks.
