This week I took a slightly different approach. I heard about Christian Henson's idea of a collaborative systems music event on youtube the other day. The idea was started with him doing two piano takes for the upcoming #pianoday. Then sharing his project with everyone for them to add their own take to sort of make a Steve Reich-esque track. So far there's all kinds of submissions ranging from pianos, guitars and even a lawnmower. My take is pretty basic with a few pianos (from my Roland) and some light ambient stuff in the background. The youtube versions don't include his takes because he will be mixing what he likes. So for this week's track I figured why not just use his two takes since he supplies the chords & midi in the project. If you'd like to check out the event visit Christian Henson's channel on YT or check out my "video" for the links below. Hopefully I get the BBcode correct. Also I'm horrible with video editing, hence it became a screen cap of Ableton. Oh and all off the videos can be found with the (hashtag) #pianobookpianoday2020

good atmosphere !
Very cinematic big sound. Beautiful piano arrangements. I don't know how you packed so much bass into those piano notes, but it's like a mastering miracle! Interesting approach on collaboration.
This is awesome man, such a big piano sound. Love those reversed strings too.
amazing track! the piano sound is majestic. How did you achieve that?!
Great piece! Your piano work is always great. I'll check out those vids too. Cool idea, I love projects like that.
I like your additions, minimalist as they may be. Makes them that much more powerful.

Thanks, there's a handy preset on my keyboard to put the piano into a penta chord-like state. So it kinda thickens up the melody
Lovely!
This constantly hammering chord is so cool!
sooooooooooo freaking epic. great job. wow
what a cool project!
cool concept. sounds wonderful
That's a cool origin story and a neat idea to spur creativity/collaboration. I like the way this starts so minimal and then builds up. It sounded pretty huge by the end.
