Cityscape

By Tone Matrix on October 4, 2020 6:47 pm

I was going to do my usual super quiet ambient thang again this week.  But this time I accidentally deleted the random pattern I had for the pads.  Which then took me in a totally different direction.  Oops?  I probably could have added another section to throw the repetitiveness off but egh I wasn't feeling it.  Laziness/Brain_fail or something.  Then I decided to add some overdrive/pedal schtuff to one of synths and it got a lil louder?  I apologize I have a bit of ear fatigue atm and honestly can't remember what I worked on.  Some piano, strings, brass, synth and pads.  Yay? YAY!  *runs to the fridge for beer and foosball*

Really cool track. Love the static-y kind of overdrive sound in there because it adds a really interesting texture but doesn't feel overpowering in the mix.

The distortion is a nice touch, but it also blends in well with the rest of the track.

I'm not saying buying VST and sample packs makes tracks great when I say your productions seem to have become consistently textured and fleshed out with a style of your own since getting Albion One. I think those tools gave you what you needed to make these great movie styled tracks.

Ominous, brooding, and somehow pleasing.

The low keyboard has is huge. Very nice epic track, cyberpunky in the right way. The high leads add really nice melodic touches to the whole track.

Was it cinematic?  YES

Did he say "schtuff"?  YES

Listening to this in my car (not driving and texting, I’m parked), I actually have a view of the cityscape where I am parked, music fits in so well, cinematic and uplifting

The melody was very Hans Zimmerman. Love it

I am deeply honored!

Love when the strings come in, they add so much to the mood.

Great tones in here especially the filtered distortion type percussive bursts along with the staccato synth lines.  Compliments the other tones nicely.

Perfect cityscape soundtrack, digging the pulse, the flow ... And cheers, I love the feeling of "Yay? YAY!  *runs to the fridge for beer and foosball*"
