Cerebral Cascade

By Tone Matrix on July 17, 2022 6:30 pm

Welp... The good news is that looming date that had that caused so much unnecessary anxiety has finally been pushed aside.  The bad news is in the process of trying to get that date extinguished I appear to have come down with something.  I thought maybe it was the Covid but the first initial at home test was negative *fingers crossed*.  But sitting upright and standing leave me feeling exhausted and I've been stuck a few days just feeling like a cold is about to start.  No idea what is going on with me but thankfully I forced out a schminterlude of pianerr last night.  My concept of time has also been off.  When I thought I had only recorded a 2min improvisation via Ableton's magical Capture feature it was eight and a half minutes long.
I dunno... Just happy to be making music and slightly upright.
Hope you guys are doing well and enjoying a nice weekend.  Major thanks to all those who reached out and gave their personal experiences in the past few weeks.  This is why I will forever love the WB community.  *socially_distanced_high_fivah*

Wow, this low, growly piano is so powerful.  Such a strong piece of music for just one instrument.  The upper register ending is great too, it sounds so good feeding into that reverb.

Also, it sounds like you're going through a lot right now man, so I hope everything is working out alright for you.  Sorry I haven't been too active on here, it's been a little difficult lately, but I will catch up on it tonight!  Hope its not covid that you caught too!

I have got to start using that feature; it caught some really great stuff here.  Weird how time works when you're playing / sick / both.  Feel better!

Hope you feel better soon! I love that wash of reverberant noise in the background, it's like it creates a deeper sense of space, giving the piano more presence, and at the same time, creating a feeling of speedy movement(like a piano traveling through a tunnel of air or a wormhole big_smile). Great piece!

Get better buddy!

I hope you get better soon.  This is an epic piano exploration here with many moments of peace and beauty and it was nice to sit back and relax to it.

I love your schminterlude of pianerr. It's beautiful. Keep it comin' and keep on keeping on. Feel better soon.

So many illnesses going around this year.  There's been a few times I thought I was getting something but have fought it off.

Lovely capture!  How awesome is that Ableton feature!?  Lost in the moment.

Get well soon, really appreciate this bit of music

Hey, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Eve though you tested negative, sometimes it takes a few tests from my experience with my family.  Hope you feel better soon. Piano sounding strong and determined. I like the heaviness you brought from the lower register.

Thanks, another great tune for the ears, especially like as the intensity picks up a bit at 2:15, very cool how this just came out and you were able to capture it all.

Ah yes the schminterlude of pianerr, love those words smile, sorry you didn't feel well, sounds like you better now based on this weeks update so that's good! The is cerebral, instrospective but also has a going out and facing things type of feeling. Great as  usual

Catching up with tracks of past weeks. I always enjoy your piano tracks. smile
