Affliction of the Soul

By Tone Matrix on October 11, 2020 1:57 pm

Lately I'm kinda stuck in a lazy_familiar_notsocreative mindset.  I know I can't really expect every week to result with a monumental epic track.  So I guess at least I have a bunch of quiet_ambient_thangs to polish up.  The usual suspects here.  Stratus, Cinematic Piano & Helm thrown into a pool of Valhalla Vintageverb & Supermassive.  Tanks for listenin!

You really are a master of the quiet ambient tracks, so no complaints here.  Even on a "down" week there are a lot of pleasant sounds to zone out to and I think there are some interesting developments as the track progresses.

This is beautiful. It might be a little vanilla for you because you're the one creating the tracks, but I really like the way you're able to bring new elements and layer them in interesting ways. Really cool.

The title is quiet prominent and so I was expecting not less than something considerable. You did not belie my expectations. Hope, I did express myself right. This was tasteful and swell.

This is a simple track but I like the tasty drums, the simple hihat over the pads and the light synths. Good meditative track, that is just right music while I work. smile

You can't go too wrong with Valhalla verb. smile
If you're lacking inspiration, I notice you use a lot of the same software all the time.  I find using different tools help with creativity and inspiration.  Stratus in particular tends to steer into a particular sound as great as that sound is.

Always enjoy the epic tracks, but I really appreciate your “ambient thangs”, such a beautiful and symbiotic blend of sounds, everything has its place, delight to the ears

this track is a band aid for the soul

Yea I def know what you mean.  I guess part of me was trying to justify the spending splurge I went on with purchasing Stratus & Albion One in the same year.  I'm still trying to get a feel for both of them especially Albion One.  I still haven't tamed the strings as well as I'd like to.  Stratus is good for starting something off when I don't know where to go but yea it does sorta take me into those familiar ambient territories.  I need to get better at using it as a seasoning to something.

Ah, a nice breath of sound. Love it. You are great at this vibe, an inspiration to me for sure as I want to create some more calm sounds myself.

Yeah Albion One doesn't excel at quieter tones really as good as it does sound.  It wins at epic though.   Great idea using Stratus as some seasoning.  I think that would work a treat!

Gives' me a modern day Blade Runner feel. The bass tones leaking in sound great!
