TSDT - The Mystic Plant, A Powerful Opponent (Chapter 27)

"Whoosh! Entering the room, it's an extraordinary energy which falls down on our companions.
Facing them, a vegetal and mystical creature from which emanates swirls of colorful sonic energy.
Then engages an inevitable battle, given the aggressiveness of the guardian of the temple."

I made this track only with FM from my Prophet 12. Because we are in Effeme swamp in the story and it is an FM boss smile
I also wanted to work only with FM of the P12, to try to have some good results and also because P12 users complains about the P12 FM because it is only logarithmical.

Also, it was a pain in the ass to mix it, because of the many transients, and variation of the kicks dynamic.
I'm happy that it is finished.
It's always difficult for me to do good mixes, I usually try to make nice mix, and lower the sound of the tracks, but the global sound is kind of weak. And I don't wan't to denature the sound with mastering tools as Ozone or whatever. Do you have some tips, because the global WB I use to listen sounds louder than mine.
Thanks !!!

Your mix sounds great. I take the easy way out and use Ozone (works about 80% of the time).

Compression will make everything sound louder, but at the loss of the nice dynamic range you've got here.

I used to work with Ozone and stuff like this a few years ago, but I stopped, to concentrate on the mix. I sometime use it but since the beginning of the TSDT Weekly Beat, I never used it, so I keep working like this to keep some global sense.

Thanks Jim for your nice comment.

Mix seems fine, a frantic yet direct energy here -- good work smile

I use ozone almost all the time (multiple ozone's on each track then master track)

The worst on this track was to manage the clipping on the master bus. With all the bells transient (with analog variations), it wasn't easy smile
Exponential FM is hard to manage in that case !
My Ozone is delaying slightly the beginning of each track, so I can only use it on the master, and usually I find the result a bit too compressed haha !
I will use Alloy more I think.

Anyway, thank you for your comment Aday !
