To Rewind Time

By Tomatron.Jones on November 10, 2024 11:45 pm

This is a slow, pensive, ambient track that is inspired largely by the Max Cooper Remix of Christian Loffler's Haul, a 7 minute long slow build up into a huge climax. I used the melody from my 'Playground Sketch' from week 25 which has been stuck in my head since. The synths and bass were recorded backwards with some reverb, creating this sort of ghostly 'pre-verb' fade into the notes. The theme that inspired this is reflected in that approach - having lost a close friend recently due to my own faults, I've been listening to Haul, on pensive walks, and wishing to go back, that I could rewind time.

* Synths and bass from Ableton Wavetable, Bass, and Helm VST
* Valhalla, Transit plugins (and more)
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering

Total time: 3.5 hours

Sorry about your friend. This is great. Love the pensive hue. Reminded me a little of the Caretaker Everywhere at the End of Time
