The Last One

It's crazy to think I've been making a track almost every single week for this entire year. 48 or so total tracks (missed a few weeks during vacation). I've come a long way in my creative practice - I used to dread the process of trying to finish a track, getting stuck and never finishing anything. Now I'lll rip through a track in just a few hours and be totally content with it. It's a powerful skill to learn as a 'creator'.
This track is from an idea I had started a few years ago of just the arp and bassline, originally recorded on the JUNO-06A - I fleshed it out fully - a full arrangement, added more layers, drums, tons of automation and production. I'm fairly happy with it for now. A few interesting things:
1) Automated the width of the arp - they go from narrow to wide over a few bars in the beginning
2) Lots of automation on the Wavetable attack and release
3) Automated the threshold of the arp's sidechain with the kick - giving more space as the arp gets more busy in the high-end.
* JUNO-06A, Ableton Wavetable, Ableton Bass, Helm, Massive, 'CZ-Tronics' plugins for synths and bass
* Drum samples from Splice + 'Vintage Drum Elements V2' plugin for drums
* Some texture samples from Splice
* Ample use of Transit, Valhalla
* Gullfoss and Ozone Elements 10 for mastering
Total time: 5 hours
After this year, I have renewed confidence I can take any random idea and flesh it out into a full composition. And I'll plenty of new music releasing to streaming platforms.
