The Impulse - Fractal Silhouettes in a December Sky

By Tomatron.Jones on December 1, 2024 11:58 pm

Another stream-of-consciousness sound collage track. This one leveraged the Korg Minilogue synth, most of the synth and bass was recorded on that. Lots of other sample chopping, pitch-shifting, manipulating, and tweaking. The first few chords (samples) were very reminiscent of Disasterpiece and had a very video-game sound to it. This is a smaller part of a larger composition. Feels like I kinda ran out of time to address a few things.

* Korg Minilogue for synth and bass
* Ableton bass synths and Wavetable for more synths and bass
* Drum, bass, percussion, pads, sax, texture, etc. samples from Splice
* Valhalla, Transit, Transit 2 plugins (and more)
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering

Total time: ~5 hours

Those birds are everything there!

Nice textures all over the track. smile

Thanks! I like the birds! Listening back, one of the plugins kinda freaked out near the beginning and made the synths too washy, and unfortunately I didn't have time to fix it, oops!

Feels slightly frantic, but I'm enjoying the birds at the start and the voices in the background.
