Minilogue Breakbeat

By Tomatron.Jones on January 11, 2026 11:32 pm

I took a quick arpeggio I played on the Minilogue, cleaned it up, then piped it back through the Minilogue while fiddling some knobs for the main synth and bass sound. Then I turned it into a full arrangement with a sort of breakbeat sample from Splice. I augmented the breakbeat drum sample with some drum samples for more clear kick and snare, and some other textural elements. It's fun though a bit too frantic and I kinda ran out of time on it. I did some fun stuff like adding a lot of chorus and slap to the bass and synths to make them sound big.

* Korg Minilogue for synth and bass sounds
* Drum and horn samples from Splice
* Transit, Valhalla plugins
* Gullfoss + Izotope Elements for master

Solid entry for 4hrs! The breakbeat really came together, and I don't think you stretched it out for too long, so the business isn't overwhelming.

Liking this - the Minilogue is sounding great. When I first got into synths I bought like 3 volcas rather than a Minilogue and still regret that. This track makes me regret that even more.

Awesome! The minilogue has such a great sound.

Also don't regret this! I know they're very popular, but I feel that volcas don't get enough credit for how good they sound.

Nice! when the beat drops -- ohhh-wee
Great job on the arrangement too - the track comes together really well

Love it!

Thanks! Yes, I am finding now less is more, and it doesn't need to drag on if it doesn't need to!

Thanks! I've been wanting to play with the Volcas but haven't had the chance. I got the Minlogue for it's keyboard playability for the band I'm in.

Dang, thank you!

Really enjoyed this! I'm a big korg fan too. I rock a monologue since 2018 in my love sets and recordings. So fun! This track is frantic for frantic times.
