Many Worlds (v1)

I took one of my old songs and reimagined it in the style of the producer 'Lorn', whose style is slow, heavy, rich, textured, gritty, and intricate. One hallmark of his sound is lots grit on the bass, synths, drums, and huge use of kick sidechain compression. It took a while to get into this, only deciding on the Lorn sound after a few hours of working on it, though once I did I got pretty excited about it, though I feel like I ran out of time, literally finishing it 30 minutes before the deadline. It got a little messy, cluttered, and out of control with some of the use of effects, mostly Transit on the lead and arp synths. I used Massive for most of the bass synth, and also Helm and Ableton instruments for other synths. The main melody is actually the vocal melody in the sung version of this song. Perhaps I'll make another version in a different style with vocals.
* Bass and lead from Ableton instruments, Helm, and Massive
* Percussion, pad, and kick samples from Splice
* Tons of wonky FX and automation, mostly with Transit
* Transit, Trackspacer plugins
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering
Total time: 5 hours 15 minutes
