Humbled By Failure

I had big plans for this one - I was hoping to create a track purely using samples from my upcoming EP as a chance to plug it. But I utterly failed. I couldn't make anything sound good, and then I didn't pivot to something else. I think it's the worst 'weekly beat' I've done this year - after almost 50 beats, I can still utterly fail. I am humbled and I am embarrassed to even post this. Nothing ever clicked, nothing ever felt good. I just kept going down the path, I was a slave to the 'intention' rather than open to creativity. Then a cascade of a bad mood resulting from this. Never getting into a flow, like which most every other beat. This was just a slog, through and through, and I hate it.
The best I could do was salvage a mediocre synthy, ambient thing.
Lessons and takeaways from this:
* Past success does not guarantee future success
* Pivot early
* Making music is supposed to be (mostly) fun, if you're not having fun then you're not doing it right
* Creativity over Persistence
* Openness over Intention
Going in with expectation is often what ruins what we create, or how we think about what we create.
* Samples from my up-coming EP for synth and bass using Ableton Sampler
* Valhalla and Transit plugins
* Gullfoss, Ozone for mastering
