Hard #3 (Codename: Mediator)

It has been a long, hard week - traveled for the eclipse, then my band played 2 shows back-to-back. I was worried I wouldn't have much tie for this but the weekend has been calm and I can focus on some producing. This one was inspired by watching the movie 'Drive' on an airplane and stumbling across the track 'Kagen Sound' by Luke Abbott. The synthwave / retrowave sound of 'Drive' plus the heavy industrial-meets-synthwave vibe of 'Kagen Sound' inspired this. Heavy, synth bass pulse with lots of layers and harmonies on top. I added some strange timing with some little turn-arounds as well. This was a balance of the 'hard' / industrial production but more interesting arrangement and composition. It took a bit longer than others for that reason. This may become part of my 'Design Patterns' project, codename Mediator...

* Helm synth plugin for bass and chords
* Samples from Splice - kick, snares, risers, etc.
* Ample use of Transit, Trackspacer plugins
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering
