From Nowhere, Nothing

I didn't start this one until the day it was due. I spent the morning working on this in my regular coffeeshop on a particularly rainy, moody day in Seattle. I recorded some of the ambience of the cafe, including a large coffee bean roaster. Originally it was going to be ambient, but I ended up getting pretty heavy with it, inspired by 'Lorn' (see my track Neptune for more). I used Massive for most of the synths, Ableton bass for the synth bass, a handful of cello samples from Splice, and tons of automation using Baby Audio Transit. It's kinda fun, but I suspect upon listening after time away, I'll wish I had done this over multiple sessions - you get kinda blind to faults when you cram too much work in a short time.
* Native Instruments Massive for pads and synth
* Ableton's bass instruments for synth bass
* Samples from Splice - kick, cello
* Ample use of Transit, Trackspacer plugins
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering
Total Time: 5 hours
