South Yarra Station

By Tom Foolery on January 15, 2020 7:20 am

Although I did take a field recording at the train station today, I have left it out. This piece has enough noise as is.

Inspired by the trains and the thunderstorm activity, I decided to record the noisiest tool I have. A while back I made some of the ciat lonbarde paper circuits. This piece is using only the 3, 4, 5, and 6 rollz circuits from a rollz 5.

There are lots of lovely tones in this, and although noisy, the concept behind this piece is me trying to play the synth to create a piece of music. The control is very limited and wildly temperamental. By holding some of the loose patch cables in my hand, I was able to create a slightly gestural approach to playing the instrument.

Noise to some, interesting to others. I am very happy to call this my weeklybeat regardless.

Noice! Sounds so close to FM drone!

Fuck yeah this is lovely. I keep being jelous of anyone with any Ciat Lonbarde stuff; so expensive.

You should look into the paper circuits! I was intrigued by ciat lonbarde but didn't want to make a huge investment. Making some of the paper circuits was a great alternative entry point.

Ooh thanks for the heads up, I didn't realise they were a different thing!
