broken spoke

This week has been busy! There was a big curveball thrown in the project that we are trying to deliver at work, which will change what my role does for at least the next couple of months, so that's been on my mind a lot. I had a migraine for the first time in over a year which was also a nuisance.

Lots of positives too though! I had three lovely nights catching up with friends that I hadn't seen in quite some time, and it was really lovely to see them all again. Made lots of progress with my foster cat Charlotte. I went for two runs, which I hadn't done for a few weeks. One of them was substantially cut short by the flooded Yarra. I did not learn my lesson from this run and also had a ride cut short by the flooded Yarra. That was the start of my misfortune on the ride, IU soon got a flat tyre and whilst changing it realised that one of the spokes on the wheel was snapped! (Hence the title). Managed to nurse the bike back to a train station (it had no issues) around several more bike path closures due to flooding. Then got home to write this!

This track was really just me playing around with my severely underloved raspi norns. I recorded a few layers from various norns patches onto the tape, and layered in some tb03 over the top. Once I had a tape that I was happy with on the norns, I recorded it onto the octatrack, pitched it down an octave, added some compression, filtering, distortion, and a touch of spring reverb, and then bounced it out to the h4! Very spooky vibes. Perhaps the halloween spirit has rubbed off on me?

Enjoy!

Nice spooky vibes. Would be a great intro track to something.
