Ecdysiast

So continuing the idea of weird titles, here is Ecdysiast - which means "striptease artist". It made me giggle thinking of something trying to do a strip tease to this.
Anyway, it's a bit contrived, 7/8 groove, the title hidden in Morse code in the synth part, so pretty much the usual, very generic. Spent a long time trying to decide whether or not to rerecord all the bass & guitar parts, because, you know, they suck. Then decided I was too lazy/really didn't have enough time.

This is sick dude. Respect for sticking to 7/8.

Damn, your suckage is my aspiration.  I need to go practice now.  Good playing!

i was waiting for some progressive odd time stuff to happen. great work and those drums sound great

excellent song writing, a really intricate yet accessable piece. fantastic style, i'm digging it smile

I like my 7/8.  Quite a smooth sounding piece.  Works well.

wow!!!

This is brilliant! It put a silly little smile on my face.

7/8 One of my fav timings :-)  Well played - the sine-style synth is great too.  What were the drums done with?

As far as rerecording - I think all of us here understand that the original idea / performance is all there is time for in most cases.  Plus it always sounds worse in your ears!  (sounds great to mine)

Playing sounds good to me. I like things a little loose. Really digging this track.

I like the Morse code idea smile

7/8!!! I love this!

I love it when someone nails a fluid 7/8. And you nailed this. I imagine this as the main theme to some awesome movie. I'll just play it and walk around like it's the awesome main theme to the film adaptation of my autobiography. wink

Nicely done sir!
