This song is in 6/4 and I found throughout the process that I kept hearing and writing parts in 4/4 to accompany the original beat. There were three separate occasions where I was listening to loops and wondering why they didn't line up, only to realize that I that varying loop lengths. I also composed this track on a very condensed timeline. The bulk of the work happened Friday night and Saturday morning - more of a Weekend Beat this week. I am pretty happy with how it turned out, so this has been another lesson on the importance of just sitting down to do the work. Otherwise, I would have just given up on Thursday thinking I hadn't made enough progress to finish a track by the Sunday deadline.
