She Wrecks Boys At NBA Jam

By theunicornprincess on January 7, 2018 12:05 am

This is my first ever WeeklyBeat and I'm super pumped to contribute. I tend to sit on tracks for too way long so I wanted to join this year to kinda show myself how quickly I can write, mix, etc. This was created & mixed in three days, which still feels like too long, but whatever.

This track was created using:

Drums: A CR5000 I found broken on eBay that I fixed up & MPC 1000
Guitar: Ibanez SA
Leads & Bass: 1972 Arp Odyssey
Textures: Gameboy DMG running LSDJ, MPC 1000 sampling a jewelry box, Ensoniq ESQ1

Word up - happy to be here.

hell yes. this is fucking cool. and a fitting title. seems like a 'new challenger approaching/someones menacing but very cool speech' theme.

neat! those drums sound nice and full and the synths are twinkly and mysterious big_smile

cool!!!  like your melodic choices a lot big_smile and dat bass!!!

Mix is kind of weird but otherwise I like this a lot.

happy to see you here! like those west coast synth lines :3 A bit quiet in the mix but overall gets my head boppin' to the melody!

Arp odyssey heart
I agree with the others, mix is a little quiet but still a good track smile

Digging the chunky beat and arp lines.  Nice job! Welcome to the WB community! smile

Very interesting instrumentation here and the jam is nice and smooth. I'm looking forward to hearing more in the coming year!

jewelry box beats forever. *thumbs up*

Good job. Nice melody, decent development, constant rhythmic element - everything you need for a successful piece.  3 days may seem like an eternity however it is an incredibly small amount of time when you are creating a composition

Your are doing a very good job so far. The Weeklybeat will 200% improve your skills.
