week6

By theGuen on February 9, 2020 5:47 pm

This week i tried to make something on the go with Gadget on my Phone.
Brought it home yesterday and added some fx and guitars.
Haha it's only week six and i am glad that i have pulled something together for this week smile
But i feel that the way i approach a track changes... i start working things out that i maybe hadn't considered otherwise.
Feels good to just follow the first instinct...

Have a nice week everyone!

I think Weekly Beats kind of requires you to follow that first instinct.  There's not much time to change course and there are a lot of weeks to fill, so it's best to just plow ahead.  The beat is awesome on this and I like the random vocal snippets.

Haha week 6 fatigue seems to be hitting a lot of people. The stuff you make on your phone is so impressive as usual. The percussion on this one is particularly nice.

you made this with an app on your phone? That's pretty awesome!
And yeah, going with your gut seems to be the only way to succeed at WB smile

It sounds like a lot of us hit a bit of a wall this week, but as I'm listening most seem pretty solid. I'm not familiar with gadget but you got some tight bass and drum groove. Background sounds are a nice touch. I like the samples too.  Well done!

I really like the feel in this one, that sneaky little guitar(?) melody is groovy as hell.

Well done Guen. everything is working fine in this track. Great stuff.

Great job, nice melody on this, like the addition of the conversation in the background and the changing pitch of the vocals.  Good job mixing this, sounds like it was made with samples from old records rather than from the very pristine/digital sounds from Gadget.

Yeah using a phone seems to be no excuse anymore... Some Synth sound maybe better than a lot of VSTs... Thank you!

Thanks! Most likely it's a guitar smile maybe some notes are from the background synth...

Cool thanks... If i managed to destroy this clean sound of gadget... i am really happy smile

Yep - go with the gut. This has some nice low end, cool chords. Sounds good, agree, nice job getting Gadget to be gritty!

Excellent laid back beat especially with those rides keepin the pace.  Deep hypnotic bassline too.  Nice work!
