week5

This week i played a bit guitar... drums are cajon and shaker and i added some synth.
I like the melodies here but think the arrangement could be better... an intro would have been nice i guess ...

Okay it's monday morning... 15 minutes of work and i guess it's good smile Some fresh movie quotes slighly rearanged...
Don't know why i didn't came up yesterday evening with this... If you like to listen, go to:
https://soundcloud.com/theguen/weeklybeats-2020-05

nevertheless, hope you enjoy,
and have a good week!

Okay, the guitar is bit out of tune, what adds a certain melancholic flav to the track. The beat is fresh and I try to find the shaker in the mix. It seems to be somewhere on the 2 and 4. All together a great movie-theme. Well done.

Haha thanks! Melancholic is what i had on my mind...
Right now i think it is disharmonic like hell... Didn‘t noticed that this morning... Seems my brain autotunes when it‘s fresh sad

It is absolutely OK. It is so fragile that way....

I do hear the out-of-tune guitar thing, but I honestly think it sounds cool.  Sometimes a little touch of dissonance is a positive thing.  But I've had that happen to me before where I'll swear something is in tune and then later on it sounds almost horribly unlistenably out-of-tune.  And then sometimes I listen later and it doesn't sound that bad.  I think it's interesting how our ears can hear the same thing differently at different times.  Oh yeah, I also liked the little vocal snippets in this.  They were cool.

Love that bass! And it has a bounce to it so not full on melancholic. A didn't really notice the guitar out of tune, but when listening for it, I hear it. Thought it was a sample kinds of warped out, sounds cool. A cajon for the main beat? Nice touch!

Seems like a simple enough question. I'm going with yes, yes it is.

The guitar gives the whole track an eeriness with the tuning.  You always have cool vocal samples in your head noddin' beats smile

Tuning is absolutely optional in my experience. I don't think your so far off that it's distracting, sounds great to me.

Whacky loony out of toony... me like.

probably my fave tune of the week. love the slightly off key guitar and the change in drums.
I will keep on pressing you to make and put out an actual album!!!!!

Yes! Killed it this week, beat is dope and the guitar fits perfect with the beat (I know nothing about playing real instruments, sounds good to me), another great vocal sample.

just listened to the soundcloud version, additional vocal samples would make Dj Shadow proud, well done.

Thanks man! I thought a bit about what you wrote cause this one gave me some headaches wink It really changed every day betwwen awfull and cool. I guess sometimes maybe more in the evening when i am a bit tired i want to hear more pleasant music something just normal to calm down. In the mornings on the other hand i am maybe more open to things that are a bit strange ...

Thanks! yeah i am quite pleased with the cajon... It's the first time it doesn't sound hollow when recorded. I think thats because i've recorded with mobile and there are maybe some nice filters on it to make a call more pleasant...

Cool! You are the first one who actually answered this simple question smile

Thanks a lot! I think on some bars the chords a bit ambiguous too, which adds to the eeriness . I've tried to just tune the guitar..doesn't work... smile
