Hmmm, my goal for this week was it to make a Song without samples...
So i decided to pick up my guitar, which i haven't plyed for maybe 20years. But i put on new strings 5 years ago wink
It's really disgusting how clumsy my fingers feel on the frets... But i have played every evening half an hour and came up with this melody...
I recorded everything on the SP-404. I used an external mic, but it is still very noisy. For drums i used an Aturia drumbrute.
I finished up in my DAW with some synths and effects.

I am not really happy with my guitar play... but it's what i have done this week. Also it motivates me to keep on practicing, so i can do better in a few weeks wink

I like the texture of the guitar with the more hip-hop oriented beat.  Also has a vaguely middle eastern sound to it or something which is quite nice.

Die Aufnahme lebt von dem wunderschönen Lofi-Charme. Sehr organisch, angehnehm, vinylknisterig. Trotzdem volle Punktzahl.

the drumbrute sounds fantastic! i like the pacing of the beat a lot, just needs some of that hiss cleaned up. i always have trouble getting an SP-X0X to not sound that way though (202 in my case). i typically use it to make some thing cool, then send it to the MPC1000 for the beat making. awesome to see you busting out the old guitar, weeklybeats has made me do the same on more than one occasion. looking forward to more!

this is really pretty & playful! dig it!

smile Danke Dir!

Nice! Love that guitar and the textures here. I can dig it!

I really dig the sort of lo-fi sound of the guitar with the beat. I think they compliment each other nicely.

I am also a fan of the drumbrute. Played around with one for a while and liked the sound and the workflow a lot. Cool piece of gear.

Good job pulling out the guitar, I wish I knew how to play any instrument, the drumbrute looks like a lot of fun to use, would like to hear some more of the drumbrute

I think the hiss/crackles are a nice effect to the guitar.  Sort of like you sampled yourself smile  Gotta love the sound of the drum brute but i'm also a fan of the sp404.  Not sure if you've seen the verysickbeats youtube channel, but he's got some cool tips.

On the 404sx you have endless recording time that's cool. And if you use the line in sound is real good...
