Cowboys Don't Make Sense

By theGuen on April 1, 2018 8:46 pm

This week i flipped some samples added synth in a second session and because remembered that i wanted to play more guitar i added some guitars in third little session and ditched some samples.
All in all i am happy with the result smile
Maybe it's a bit scattered... would two extended verses have been better?

Hope you enjoy...
Have a nice week!

Not scattered at all, very cohesive. And good.

Indeed not scattered at all
Where did you get the vocal sample from ? All samples for that matter? I rarely work with samples but that is mainly cause i don t know where to get em. Do you have a database?

Anyhoo ... it is again a big mo’wax tune, man.

Love the cinematic composition and the good use of lofi effects. The guitars fit perfectly. Cool stuff.

It makes more sense than cowboys.

love that drum beat!  the vocal samples are great and i love that ring mod crush.  what did you make this on?

is there some SP-X0X action in this? i like it, i can see why you'd consider it scattered, but it's a Quasimoto style scattered, which is a good thing. the beat keeps it together and the vocal chops add a nice break; nice work!

The beat is really cool and I like the various different sounds a lot.

Sweet groove man!

Dope, nothing scattered to me here, the vocal samples fit great with the mood of the track, did the vocal sample inspire the beat?  Or was it added after?

Thanks a lot!
I think the easiest way for sampling are the big sample libraries like loopmasters and primeloops. They also have a good collection of movie dialog samples. I can recommend Sampleradar for a huge collection of free samples. Last thing i discovered was patchbanks... it seems that they have more complete arrangements instead of loops. More fun wink But there are a lot of other places to get samples from... But be carefull my disks are messed with several dozen GB of samples...

Thanks! Don't know wich sound you mean exactly... there is that repeating synth sound wich is bitcrushed and some sounds in the bridges... These are made with Illformed Glitch2. I just glitched the whole flipped sample track bounced it  and used this as sample source again.

Thanks man! Just a bit SP for processing the drums here. Always nice to get them warm and muddy...

Thanks a lot! I have added the vocals between synth and guitar, mostly to add a bit flair. I love movie samples...

Fantastic orchestration right here. The blend of guitars and that drum beat is really tasty.

Love the beat and the sample selection.  The bit crushed parts add a nice thickness to the mix too.  Had me nodding my head fo sho! Nice outro too!

nice beat! like the guitars a lot. Darn cowboys!
