This week was insanely hectic for me. I was on call for my day job this week, and that adds a lot of extra cognitive load to my day. When I got off work, all I wanted to do was watch basketball. My favorite team made it to the playoffs for the first time in 5 years, and I'm HYPED about that, plus the other series' in the playoffs have been a lot of fun to watch too. I also have a band project that's starting to get going. That all really cut into the time I normally allot to weekly beats. That said, this project has been super good for my growth as a musician, and so I'm committed to making it happen.

I feel like this week's submission is more of a start to an idea, rather than a fully fleshed out one, but I do like the bass groove I have going. I might try continuing to develop the idea further in the future. I'm sort of hitting a wall on the drums in my songs right now. I feel like they are too loopy for my taste. My bass playing is really progressing, but I can't say the same is true for the drum programming I'm doing. Maybe I need to change up my approach. I've watched some videos on DnB and Jungle drum programming recently, and maybe I need to dig into doing that. I also have an urge to figure out how to get some more natural sounding drums in the mix. IDK, I'm probably being too hard on myself. I like the track.
