It's a real genre, not something I made up - maybe if you liked this you might want to check out both psychill and psybient, although both of those genres are (in my opinion) basically "what if we took psytrance, kept all the sound but made it slower and more relaxing sort of".

It totally works for me. Trance in general tends to over-saturate sounds in too confined a space. This solves that nicely by spacing it out a bit.

Thanks. I feel that way too with trance, it's like a syrup sometimes - sweet but too condensed.
