Whatchu Wonderin With That Question Mark Tail

Last-minute composition. Made this in Logic. I like how it turned out even though it was rushed. I wish beat-making in Logic felt as good as making beats on the M8. There is a way, just gotta keep learning.

Lyrics:

Wasn't meant to be
Cuz I never had a chance
All a fantasy
Takin' away our romance

Days always fading
I'm trading my life
So much is a maybe
I don't know what's right
But if we could find it
We wouldn't be dreamin' of
Something much better
Or never believe in love

bouncy vibe - love that electric piano work

Dang, yeah, this hits pretty hard for a last minute "rushed" piece.  Very well done.  One thing I will say for building beats in Logic, it's worth really diving into the step sequencer if you haven't yet.  It's never going to have the same feel as a tracker, or like the same level of control per-event, BUT, Logic's step sequencer is VERY VERY deep... and in typical logic fashion all the more advanced per-step or per-row features are like tucked away neatly enough that you might never find them if you weren't looking for them.  But if you take the time to build some bespoke pattern templates, you can get some pretty crazy stuff going pretty fast.

Thanks for the motivation! I will def have to explore the step sequencer. I've honestly just been layering loops for beats because step sequencing in a DAW to me just doesn't seem fun. But who knows! I just gotta try it, maybe I'll be super into it. smile

funky fresh

wow, love the piano solo!  love the mixing/stereo separation.

dangit forgot to say i love the cat illustration too

Always digging your vocals, especially liked how there's a lengthy instrumental foundation established before they kind of just pop up there towards the end, which makes for the kind of unpredictable listening experience that I like stumbling into.
