House of Jupiter

By tdmhc on February 2, 2014 6:08 pm

This is a Deep House track. I initially created the basic stems in Live and then mixed and effected it in Logic 9. This is the first time I've tried this approach, as others have stated Logic "sounds" better. Let me know what you all think. Any creative comments are always welcome.

I like the mix in the intro. The panning sounds maybe a little wide sometimes - must be because I'm listening with headphones.

Tune sounds cool. I've wanted to try mixing this way for a while but half my plugins don't show up in logic and I always end up wanting to change instrumentation or edit automation of live devices after i'm almost done mixing. Sometimes the answer to a mixing problem isn't a plugin it's just to change the sound. I'm not so sure about logic sounding any better but it's could be cool to get into another environment to get your head in a different place.

Very nice melodies and sounds.  Getting an early AFX or Autechre vibe from this.

I'm stubbornly sticking to my OP-1 for all mixing, when I know life would be so much easier in Logic...!  It all sounds pretty clear to me, perhaps the synth/pad sound (long single notes) could be made more prominent somehow...?
