For Spiegel

By tatecarson on February 15, 2014 5:51 am

For this week I used a much different method than I have been so far. This piece is the result of a free improvisation between me and my friend Erin Demastes, which is part of a different project called Ablebody. I took an excerpt from a long recording we had done of improvisations and made some minor mixing adjustments then bounced everything down and edited the wave file a bit. I explored repitching and chopping the entire file with I think interesting results. Also, full disclosure the last idea of editing a bounced mix came directly from little scale, thanks for all the inspiration.

Für spiegel!

This is really great. I love the idea of chopping up the entire bounce too, Little-Scale is a clever fella. The results here are fantastic though, especially the kind of "free improvisation" aesthetic thing.

Thanks, I really like your work. I think we should try to collaborate on one of these coming up. I think we have a pretty similar aesthetic. Email me if you're interested.

hey this caught my eye, love the palette of sounds and chaos within this one. Just a damn hot mess of sounds that fit so well yet have no relation.
