This weeks track started out as a piece on the piano playing around with chords and a melody that evoked a feeling of sliding down. After recording it, I did a scratch vocal melody that stripped back the piano melody, and distilled it down nicely. It was a really fun way of working, and was nice being back writing on the piano.

Lyrics:
I hesitate
your words were empty, but weighed me down

The time it breaks
all my thoughts are fragments now

And I can't help
but feel that I am nothing

I'm left here plagued
the moments pass on through me

And where will I be tomorrow
your words they cast a bitter shadow

And then I slide down
Holding onto all I can

Slide down
Losing myself to the depths

I slide down
There's nothing left for me here but to

Slide down
Slide down, down

Love those piano chords, and this definitely has a killer progression that always feels like it's descending. There are some scratching sounds at the end that are super tasty and give it a bit of a Trent Reznor feel

Omg... It does have a bit of a Reznor feel, now that you mention it...

Yo!! This is such a profoundly moving vocal!! I love the depth of emotion... It really opens up at around the 1 minute mark...

really incredible vocal tone... this is one of my fav's this week for sure.

Haunting song, congrats on the songwriting and the vocal performance!

This is excellent! Great work all around
