hey hi nerds! i've been busy with uni stuff so i tweaked an album song i had almost finished for this week's weeklybeat. it's a short one but one that means a lot to me regardless, i wrote most of the lyrics of this song after my dog passed away in october 2018. sorry to be a downer again. oops.

lyrics:

i can hardly speak
i can hardly write a song
but after today
i know i'll never be alone

chemicals in the air
one switches out for the other
shed light on my eyes
better off uncovered
i know but,
it feels impossible
as reality dies off
the memories blossom

october passed away

i can hardly speak
i can hardly write a song
but after today
i know i'll never be alone

also if u want to, check out the really cute song i worked on for florelle!

Love the contrast between the vocals and the rest of the tune smile It's like peering into a window when it's raining outside. Very emotional! heart

gotta second Mortistar, the juxtaposition of soft breathy vocals with all this grungy distortion and fm-y noise drums is very unique! Great work!

Very nice, liked the guitar sound a lot!

Punk ballad.

No need to be sorry for sad songs. Sometimes we need those so others can relate! Also not every song needs to be happy thats partially why I like the strokes, the songs sound happy but those lyrics can be downright depressing. But I dig it.

I love the fuzzy electric guitar in your songs it kinda accentuates the feelings you are showing in your song.

Sometimes theres sad or upset or that feeling of unknown and its a mash of everything. The best way to describe it...is fuzzy.

thank u both so much!! it took a while to figure out how to make this song sound but im really happy with the sloppy guitars vs the vocals n the rigid drums to keep it all in place.

thank u! i messed around with recording more of the room sound and used my phone as an extra mic. i couldn't double track the guitar cause it's so sloppy (it would never turn out the same again) so i also doubled it up in ableton with a clone at an octave below and mixed it in to give it more weight

thanks! i really love fuzz effects more than typical distortion cause of the texture.. they also tend to be kinda weird and different from each other so its like they all got their own character haha. i also really like that description !! things are often a mash and all u can do is sit and let things come at u one by one
