Objective Objects

Just got back from vacation and so this is the result of another panicked before-deadline-session smile

I started over twice since I couldn't seem to get a groove going, but in the end running out of time I decided to just work with what I had and ended up stringing two of the ideas together since they were in the same key...two songs in one?? I should probably have had the discipline to just flesh out one of them, heh...

First one came out of playing around with this awesome taishogoto Ableton rack that I tried to mess up a bit to make it sound like an old sample.

Quickly got tired of that dusty feel (that I perhaps tend to reach for quite often these days!) though and wanted to make something more synthy/electronic so started fiddling around with the Maschine and Korg Volca which resulted in the chaos that follows!

Works very nicely with the filtered first half.  Really sweet second half also.  Smooth.

The first half has a really catchy chord progression and the taishogoto sound gives it a nostalgic feel, especially with the lo-fi beat.  The second half to me still keeps that theme going but opens it up a bit.  Almost like the first half is a glimpse of the memory and the second half the full on immersion of the memory smile  I really enjoyed this.  Nice job!

Tone Matrix, you have a talent for making people better appreciate what they made! I really like your interpretation, thanks smile

hadn't the chance to say welcome back yet, so here it is! Personally i absolutely adore the "dusty" feeling of your recent tracks. The combination with the more fresh electronics in the second half is nevertheless very refreshing and works very well!
