Life finds a way.
Abandoned en masse in the early 21st century due to draconian water restrictions and horrifically poor resource management, the world's first ghost city sits quietly baking on the shore of Western Australia. Although never considered a thriving metropolis, Perth once had a respectable tourist trade and played home to one of Australia's most successful internet companies. Now the remaining population make their homes along the only reliable sources of water; the cracked, muddy banks of the Swan river, and the blinding, glittering coastline. The one remaining resource the city has in abundance is sunlight, and it is both their life source and their nemesis. In the daytime they hide from the oppressive heat, emerging in the late afternoon with the ever-reliable sea breeze, to scavenge for supplies and industrial parts to maintain their makeshift solar powered infrastructure. Any real work gets done in the evening hours, as the scorching sun settles below the horizon. Then, at night..
Well, life finds a way.
A way to party.
