Funky Electribe jam + Bonus Track

By Strayce on January 12, 2018 8:01 am

Week 2 track: Electribe 2 sampler + Alesis SR-16.

Drums, bass and chords pre-sequenced. Lead played live and recorded in one take.

I missed the deadline for week 1 by like 12 hours because of timezone fuckery, so bonus at 3:45 on this track is last week's submission. They don't flow at all.

Week 1 track: Electribe 2 sampler + Alesis SR-16.

Cool track. Bangin drums and gritty synth sounds! And on a side note, depending on where you live, watch out for frickin Day Lights Savings time... that screwed me on WB 2016. smile

Love the bonus track, totally caught me off guard.

Yum! 2 flavours of cheese! ^__^

sounds like 'town music' in a genesis/snes game

like, I'm walking around and meeting all the npc's and viewing their quirky dialogue

bonus track is more like a psx racing game, I'm imagining playing wipeout and trying to chase down that one bastard that is keeping me in 2nd place

volume levels for the different parts in the bonus track could use a bit of tweaking, or if you're doing one take recordings, maybe throwing it through a compressor could even things out a bit

loudmax64 is good if you want a literal 1xslider control for compression

I tweaked the lead synth chords down quite a lot on the bonus track before uploading it. Should have left them as-is.

Two great tracks! I have to agree with Skueue's game description, some great old school game sounds in there

Nice bass line!  (I almost want a tiiiiiny bit more bass frequency in that voice for maximum crushing...but it's a super-sweet line!) Funky!

First song: Definitely the "your rival has appeared" music in a classic rpg. You hear it as they walk into frame and their textbox callout shows up before they do
Second song: I like the composition, but I think the bass could be more bassy(?) than the formant thing happening rn? It's good either way smile

week2 jangles!

I love the fat sounds of the first song. The bonus isn't really my taste.
