We Were Having Such a Good Time

I'd prefer my times precedented, if possible.

This piece is an evolution on last week's, using the same particle simulator to excite parameters across a variety of instruments, but this time adding a new Max effect I created, which holds a bucket of MIDI notes, until one of these particles crosses a certain boundary, at which point it has a chance to drop some or all of these notes in a random staggered fashion. I added two layers of such midi buckets that drop into each other, and then added a some other bouncy MIDI note funkiness to dress up one of the pads. This is one of those pieces that sounds very different every time I render it, so the messiness and imperfection is the feature, and I have no reservations about it!

On another note, Weekly Beats is starting to feel a little bit more like group therapy (not the Above and Beyond kind).

Cool concept, yeah I feel ya stay precedented out there!

So many delectable crackly sounds that massage my ear, and with that raspy bass tone to fill out the spectrum makes for a feeling of completion over the entirety of the atmosphere, while pacing through a sequence that is unpredictably seductive. Nice work! heart

I literally said the same thing about precedented times to a friend today... sad

This is such a deep sonic palette!! Lots of really interesting textures going on, but that bass sound in particular really tickles my ears in a good way.
Really enjoyed this! Very keen to hear where else these ideas may lead you!
