Week31 - 3310

By Stefano D'Alessio on August 3, 2014 2:10 pm

3310 is a piece born from a short improvisation done using a launchpad as physical instrument.
A custom MAX/MSP software gives the possibility to interface the launchpad with melodic and harmonic rules via midi in/out and eventually the midi flow feeds Madrona Labs Aalto plug-in creating the main sound layer. A secondary layer is created feeding the Aalto output to a feedback loop containing a modulated reverb and a Monotron Delay. The improvisation recording has been finally polished and slightly restructured.
The track has been entirely created in four days (28-31 July 2014).
Composed in Logic.

Niiiiiiiiice.  Great interplay of the randomized (?) processing and sparse ring-modulated(?) space.  How are you doing it?

Just added description... thanks by the way!!!!
As it was actually a "hand executed" improvisation i guess that's is my brain that is randomized! the ring modulation is actually always going on... is just that some times the envelope of one of the frequency changes making it way more evident!

Lovely work, you can hear the performative aspect which adds a richness sometimes lacking in these kinds of works.
