Week08/09 - Arhythmica part 1/2
By Stefano D'Alessio on March 2, 2014 6:19 pm
Second part start at 4:50
The first part of Arhythmica is entirely made using a modified Monotron Delay. Different break out cables permit to improperly modulate the Monotron thru audio signals. The modulation signals are generated in Max/MSP, regular digital patterns are fed in to the Monotron, which relatively respect the regularity because of the improper ‘home made’ connections with the analog circuit (after approx. 15 min of modulation the Monotron start to heat up and behave incorrectly).
The result is a track made of patterns pursuing unstable rhythms, and overloaded tones.
The track has been entirely created in three days (23-25 February 2014).
Composed in Logic.
The second part of Arhythmica is an early fork of the first part. The track is realized taking the first pattern of part 1, and building over its rhythmic an entirely different piece. The piece is a drum and guitars piece, where the basic rhythmical pattern is constantly looping but its tempo always drifting, pulling back and pushing forward, giving the piece a feeling of instability. The track has been entirely created in two days (01-02 February 2014).
Composed in Logic.
