Metal On Metal

  • Far less emotionally wanky than the last week's description - I wanted to do something vocal-related—excise the lyric-writing brainworms—but I lost my voice bc of illness. So I wrote some cheesy dubstep instead. It's been a while since I did something big and beefy. Stretching the muscles, I guess.

  • This is an attempt to overcome the biggest hurdle of any WeeklyBeats uploader: the urge to not upload it because it's not a perfect one-to-one match with what you had in your head. It's a good sketch, and I'm still happy with 90% of it, though!

  • I think this EQ on the main bass is really bloody funny. Just look at it. Horrid. It looks like it got punched in the head.

funny you say it looks like the bass got punched in the head because I listened to the track before reading and my reaction was daaaaamn that bassline just punched me in the face fr

great track! spooky intro, massive massive beats, lovely subdued outro, love the reverby choir stabs in the background, adds so much atmosphere, the mix is excellent heart

YES! Love that grinding crunchy tone milking my aggressionz to the fullest of ecstacy!

yooo, this slaps! I like the buildup + drop. nicely done smile

This is solid work.

Ambiance is great, love those dirty low synths. Damn this hits hard. Claps!

The thing is in 3 months when you come back to this, you won't remember what was exactly the end result you were going for.

It sounds pretty damn good to me.

Take care!

had fun listening to this one. it doesn't need to be perfect to encapsulate the gritty vibe which you did very well. gives me as much of that hardwave sound as it does dubstep and i like the harmonising of the bass layers to give the extra depth as the track progressed smile

Total banger! Love when the snares start being audible at 1.00, so much anticipation!

Wow that's awesome, so heavy at 1:25 and those little quick rolls are rad.
