Exercise de style

Almost the end of winter and I'm trying to get some puck shooting in while I can.
Last week I was walking to the rink and thought my steps on packed sidewalk snow sounded nice, so I decided to record using my phone. I did the same at the rink with the intention do make some diy drums samples.
The kicks are shots on the board, snares are slap shots, shaker are skate sounds, some posts shot in there too. Mangled on the m8 and added some bass, hypesynth, and a mono synth in the back. Also a few samples I had made with a piano patch that I like on my yamaha ck61
As far as the result go.. I feel like track is going nowhere.. I did it all fairly quickly and wasn't feeling super inspired. It was kind of tiring to work with the samples as they were mainly brittle sounds.
So, it felt more like a school project than my regular approach, but I enjoyed the process and might revisit the samples.
