LIME HEDGEHOG W13

woohoo! Week 13!

My usual m8/sub37 combo plus some hypersynth.
I recently got an eventide space reverb which I've been digging.

I've been feeling like music has been hard to create lately so I started something new and just had fun coming up with different parts and then they all sort of fit together. I feel like the framework came together quick and then I spent time filling out sparse areas, adding some drum variations.

Oh and this is the first time I've actually used risers, aka reversed cymbal samples, I think it really adds to it, lmk what you think!

Feeling a bit renewed creatively and this is a good reminder to just have fun and create things without focusing on the end product.

Some really nice sounds you got going there. Drums sound nice, as does the bass.

You could possibly go harder on the risers. Often it can work well to do something else with them - a rising chord/melody line, or drums increasing in pace/volume. Also, killing the riser before the drop can be great. 1, 2, or 4 beats before the drop, with some space and a drum fill, some vocals, or some bass/lead motif leading into the drop.

Congrats on making it through 13 weeks smile

Duuude thanks for the riser tips! Will give these a shot

I haven't kept up all that much with your other submissions (my apologies), but this sounds SUPER fresh! Also, the use of the reverse cymbals as risers work very well here, it sounds like you're pretty well versed in how/where to place them even though you seem to not have done so before this track.
Anyways, awesome job!

Moog bass represent! I love that sound. I enjoyed the track, well mixed and the sound design is on point.

Woah so much depth in this production, really solid work!

Thanks! Appreciate the listen, its so hard to keep up with ALL that gets released each week. Where to use the risers I guess is intuitive enough they do add a nice touch to the transitions.

Thanks!! Glad to hear, I've been working on my mixing/level setting and balancing instruments for sound design.

Thanks! Appreciate the listen and kind words!

Awesome sound palette. Love those synths.

great sound design as usual! i love that synth combo, always sounding big and confident. nice one!

I love the sounds you selected for the synths. I particularly liked the break and return at 1:38, that part is definitely a highlight for the vibe of the track.

Great to hear some tasty hardware.  The Moog sounds great and the tightness of the M8 is always impressive.
