Yellow (WB03)

I was working on another track this week with electronic instruments (I'll finish it later lolz) but I ended up doing something different.

Got some excellent inspiration from my friends Kelly and Brian in a group brainstorming session. Ended up with some lyrics and put some guitar chords to them. Some inspired harmony and I'm just going to leave this one a bit raw. We worked on other things but I would estimate an hour and a half of work writing and drafting the song and another hour and a half of recording guitar and harmonies later that evening.  Total work time about 3 hours!

Lyrics:

I had a job once
I had a bit of money
I drank a lot of coffee
And I turned the walls to corn

An incandescent glow
A brass patina grows
Wondering why all the people
Say the moon is yellow

A bruise that tastes so sweet
From a cowardly feat
Crossing lines across the road
Falling sands from dunes to glasses

Really like the pacing in the last four lines. Nice timing

Love the surreal quality of the lyrics over the laid back acoustic.  Nice change of pace from pure electronic.

How lovely.
