Well this was an odd one. What started as a silly joke turned into a full fledged song!

Spent 20 minutes jotting down the first verse and chords as a joke on Thursday night. Picked it back up Sunday, wrote a second verse and practiced playing it for about 40 minutes, 5 minutes writing a backing beat to record to, 10 minutes writing in bass patterns, 5 minutes setting the structure in the computer (it was already decided by this point), 30 minutes recording guitar tracks, 20 minutes editing them down to something reasonably ok, 30 minute recording vocal tracks, 30 minutes editing vox, 20 minutes adjusting volume, fx, eq and compressors to blend it all, 10 minutes adding in the pads in the front and back, 20 minutes editing in the backing vox for the bridge sections, another 20 minutes adjusting the master track and done! Total work time about 4 hours 20 minutes!

Lyrics

There's hair in my eyes
And paint on my fingers
And my darling has left me at home
One truth and two lies
The sting of it lingers
My darling has left me at home
My darling has left me at home

A zephyr is blowing
And changes are changing
The harder we suffer alone
The way things are going
The faster were aging
The harder we suffer alone
The harder we suffer alone
