Targeted Intervention (WB47)

This week I find myself thinking about how unique and special a place like Weeklybeats is. Out of all the monumental shifts I've been through this has managed to be something stable in my life.

I spent a while picking over this one late past midnight on a Saturday evening. I used my MS2000 again as my recorded element programming the melody and counter melody parts with it in midi in ableton and then recording the loops back in. Spent a good hour deciding on my tempo, bass drum and bass patterns. It didnt occur until later in the process to put in a half time snare which turned out to be a key element. Spent another hourish writing and recording midi out of the MS2000, then spent about 30 minutes filling the other instruments out with some overdoubles and fxs. another 30 minutes writing a structure and another hour putting in fxs and volumizing the tracks. I decided things werent right I took about an hour and went back and added detail into the drum patterns and transitions. 30 minutes reajusting fxs and volumes (turned EVERYTHING down..) another 30 minutes dedicated to the master track and then finished. total work time about 5 hours!
