Precession (WB03)

Decided to take the palate I created last week and do something weird with it.  I switched up the music theory to modal w/ some half step modulation.  Took about 1 and a half hours writing the patterns but I ended up having to edit them a lot over the rest of the time because I couldn't decide on which parts of which instrument in each measure were half step mod.  I took an hour figuring out the structure.  First draft was 10 minutes long so most of the time was spent shaving it down to size.  Another hour and change mixing, filtering and editing before I bounced it out.  Total time about 4 hours

The girl says this sounds like "underwater martini bar music for creepers"

"those jackasses left me with nothing but this old spacesuit on this godforsaken rock! yeah, i can jump really high, but what does that accomplish if there is nothing but blackness to jump to"  great vibe. track favorited!

I like the modal melodic ideas in this along with the half step modulation it definitely gives that space martini lounge  feel. I would worry personally about the half step modulation sounding too repeative but you pull it off well melodically  sounds great and relaxed

i could see an seedy underwater martini bar bumping this. keeping those pretty vibes flowing.

Thanks!  I was worried about the same thing but after shaving it down from 10 minutes I was able to find enough movement to keep it going i think.  Its tough to make something feel weird and creepy but also relaxing

Thanks!  I plan on keeping this similar palate for a few weeks and see where it takes me big_smile

Very Pleasant! those dreamy sounds are nice and the beat is jumpy excellent

Oh dang. This is such a great vibe. I'd say the modal & half-step work here worked to very great results.

Oooh this is great. Awesome vibe. This would make excellent soundtrack music. Creeping down a darkened hallway.

Definitely an underwater vibe.  It's that sonar ping! Very chill where the martini comes in. Really nice tone on that kick.
