I was thinking to myself why aren't there more 12 bar progressions?

Recorded guitar and MS2000 growly bass as my recorded elements this week. Spent 25 minutes putting together some basic percussion, 20 minutes playing guitar coming up with a riff, 10 minutes recording guitar, 10 minutes messing with bass parts, 15 minutes recording the bass loops, 20 minutes writing in some instruments and fxs to fill out the sound, 20 minutes recording and editing the structure, 10 minutes adding in some filters and shaping and 10 minutes going back over the volumes and master track. Total work time about 2 hour an 20 minutes!

I think it's because after a while it feels like a 4-bar one dragged out. If you want to be special, do 11, or 5. Either way, I like this example.

I LOVE me some 12 bar - love this mix of guitar and electronic beats.  I kinda want the guitar louder but that's just me.  Love the filtering!

You're right its hard to even write a 12 bar phrase without relying on the 8/4 bar phrase. I did here even! I think it might even be hard to write 11 or 5 without relying on that 4 bar phrase. Thanks for the thought big_smile

I fell into the classic "im not confident in this part so im going to turn it down" trap lolol. you're right it could come up louder. I think i'm figuring something out with this guitar against beats and synths thing.. 8|
