HOLY SHIT THE YEAR IS HALF OVER!!

trying out some new ideas with sound design lately. doing a little mix and match with some of my instruments and fx chains. tried to keep this one relatively simple on the composition so i could focus on the sound design aspect a little more with my time.

used a couple super crunchy bass wave loop samples from the mx2000 as my recorded element this week.  spent 20 minutes picking a kit and writing a simple drum pattern with a couple super simple bass patterns in the computer, looped them for about 20 minutes while i figured out what sort of instrument i wanted to record from the mx2000 and figuring out the melody, 10 minutes recording synth parts, 10 minutes writing super simple melody loop, 20 minutes filling in some pad sounds with midi instruments, 25 minutes writing in a couple drum variations and expanding the loops from 4 bar patterns to 8 so i could get some better phrasing then i stepped away for the evening. next day spent 30 minutes adjusting fx chains and volumes to get a good mix, 20 minutes putting together a final structure for the song, 25 minutes writing in master filter automation, 10 minutes adjusting the master chain and done! Total work time about 3 hours!

edit: upon listening back i now hear that part of the drum beat was off by a measure toward the beginning of the song but i think i like it that way
