Dimensional Shift (WB01)

In keeping with my expectations to use this as an opportunity to expand on my workflow and design I based this around a few simple samples of guitar and no-input mixing run through a kaoss pad and then tossed together, composed mixed and exported in an hour.  It took about 10 minutes to sample, 10 minutes to set up my chains, 10 minutes to build the structure and 30 minutes to build out fx, mix and export.  Theres a lot more I could have done with the track like extra percussion or melodies but it feels finished as a light drone piece to me.

This rules! Amazing minimal groove.

Always wanted to experiment with no-input mixing and I like what you've done with the sounds here a lot. I hope to hear more of this style from you in the coming weeks.

loving this. hope to hear more spry drone in the future as well smile

Pretty lush and interesting result for such a minimalistic approach. It feels like a complete track to me

Dude... that sound is so rich and the stereo seperation is super interesting.   Can't believe you made this in an hour.  Which Kaos Pad is it?

Great grainy/hissy texture--this feels like it could be any length and work really well.  Great stuff!

Whooo-Hsssh!

thanks for the feedback everybody!

@hypnogram this is my first experiment with no input actually.  ive read a lot about it but i just stumbled across the sound when i was twisting knobs during setup.  the no input is the static swell sent through the aux line to the kaoss pad on a delay big_smile

@nestrogen thats exactly what i did into the microphone :X

@ctrix its the mini kaoss pad complete with missing jog wheel knob.  thats funny you mention the stereo separation because i accidentally recorded the mic in left only and had to crush it to mono then re-separate it. I suppose that cleaned it up a bit lol.

Nice wooshes!

Solid! Even though you didn't get too add everything you wanted  - there's a charm to going minimalist.

The track came together pretty good really!  Dig those washes of sound with the subtle beat.  Sometimes less is more.
