Branch Out and Leaf (WB46)

Got inspired by a ragtime bass line and ended up in a totally different place this week.

Spent a little longer than usual on this one. Took a good 1 hour and 10 minutes building the instruments and writing the patterns for this one. If you have been playing along at home, you may recognize the flute sound as it is the same sample I have been building my pad from for a few weeks. One sample from a quick recording session has been surprisingly adaptable for me. Another 20 minutes putting the structure together, 30 minutes mixing it up and shaping the intro and outro and thats that. Total work time 2 hours.

this is impressive stuff dude. i usually freak out and do mine in like 1-4 hours on sunday haha. it adds a nice little bit of pressure to an otherwise stressless day. i really enjoy the structure of this song. nice build. solid feel to it. makes me feel good.

Some weird turns've happened if it started out as ragtime.

Bassline sounds more like 50s doo-wop (Which I happen to love). Floaty top fits perfectly.

You're not wrong about that!  It was really just the bass line that i stole and then i took a hard left turn haha

It does sound more doo-wopy with all the stuff i put on there but i promise i basically lifted the first bass pattern right off a rag time tune lol.  The floaty top is my new favorite melody style big_smile
